BUILDING A NEIGHBOURHOOD FOOD SYSTEM
Transforming local food systems and fostering resilient communities.
The Leslieville Farmers' Market
Every Sunday at Greenwood Park May through October we bring dozens of local farmers, chefs, food producers and artisans into the neighbourhood, connecting them with thousands of local residents. Affordability remains a systemic challenge but a vibrant and prosperous local food system is an essential component to a resilient food system.
The Neighbourhood Food Hub @ Glen Rhodes Campus
Located at the Glen Rhodes Campus at Coxwell Ave & Gerrard St.E, the Food Hub serves as an incubator for small businesses, vendors, and food programs, and a range of community events and programming. Together with our partners, we're reimagining the relationship between affordability and accessibility. The Initiative is a partnership with Applegrove, the City of Toronto and is supported by the Trillium Foundation, Metcalf Foundation and Healthy Communities Canada.
East End
Night Market
The East End Night Market is not only a celebration of local food, art, and community, but also a platform for bringing together major farmers' markets, local food organizations, and our passionate volunteer community. Our event creates a space for collaboration and support, where everyone can showcase their unique offerings and contributions to the community. Don't miss the chance to experience the best night market in the East End!
Greenbelt
Farmers Market
Network
The Greenbelt Farmers' Market Network is dedicated to increasing economic growth and opportunity for local farmers practicing sustainable agriculture. The network was founded in 2005 by local food champion Anne Freeman with the help of FoodShare Toronto and the Greenbelt Foundation providing key funding for over 15 years, helping create social and economic opportunities for the Greenbelt's farmers and producers.
